Snowed in!

Well, not technically snowed in since in a little while I have to load up myself and Jack and head out in the foot of snow that has fallen and take Jack to school and myself to work. But...if it were any ordinary day and I had any ordinary job I would be snowed in. Joe had to shovel the snow in the driveway just so I would be able to back out. He also had to use his 4-wheel drive to get out of the neighborhood. My little honda does not have 4-wheel drive so wish us luck getting out of the driveway and neighborhood. :)

Does this thing still work.....

So yeah, I have not blogged in, oh a year. I am surprised this thing has not been deleted. So, I think I will try to blog a little more this year. If for nothing else, so I can keep somewhat of a journal of my life with a 2 year old.

Obviously we have been very busy this past year watching our little baby grow into a full-fledged toddler. He went from barely being able to get around on his own to running around the house like a crazy person. He has filled our house with smiles and laughter. What a personality he has. He is talking up a storm and even though a lot of times we don't understand what he is saying, he sure knows. He started "preschool" about halfway through the year and I can't even tell you how much he has learned since then. This year I look forward to watching him become more of an independent little boy. I am sure it will bring it's challenges but that just means that he is growing and developing. Please check back for updates, for now here are some recent pics of our little man.

Out of Hiding

I thought that it was about time to make a new blog post.  I know that it has been a really long time since our last post and I probably don't have any readers anymore but I am going to post anyway.  These last few months have been busy ones.  We had Jack's 1st birthday party.  It was so much fun.  We had all of our close family and friends crammed into our house and it was a blast. Jack seemed to have a really good time and he was so cute with his cake.

Later that same day we took him to get his 1 year pictures taken.

A couple weeks after he turned one he started walking and pretty soon he was running.  Now we can't slow him down.  It seems like he is getting faster every day.  He is talking up a storm although 99% you can not understand but he seems like he is carrying on a conversation with himself in his own little language.  He continues to make us laugh and smile every day and we are so very excited to see what the next year brings!

Here are some pictures from the last couple of months.

Hanging out with my Grandaddy Mustache!

Hmmmmm, I am not sure I'm supposed to be playing with this.

I thought this was such a sweet picture of Jack with his Daddy.

Thanks for checking out or blog and I promise to post more, it is one of my resolutions.

Big Tex

Today Jack had his first experience at the Texas State Fair.  It was a beautiful day so the three of us and my mom went out and had some "fair fun".

He hung out with Big Tex

He chowed down on a corny dog (not really)

We chowed down on some Chicken Fried Bacon...yes you read that right Chicken Fried Bacon!

Jack pet a baby goat

Then he pet a big hairy adult goat

And last but not least he rode his very first carnival ride, the Merry go round.  He loved it!
Overall we had a great day and our favorite part was being able to share this experience with our little boy.  You could tell that he was having a great time taking in all the sights, and trust me there are a lot of sights at the Texas State Fair.

"Thank you"

Jack has been a busy little boy lately.  He is learning so fast.  We feel like he is so close to walking.  He can push his little push car all across the room like a big boy.  And, he said his first two word phrase the other night.  He said "thank you!'  At first we were not sure if that is what he said but we listened and he said it over and over.  It was definitely "thank you."  It was the cutest thing.

Here are some current pictures and even a video of him practicing his walking.

10 months old!

I dedicate this post to Lauren for reminding me that I have slacked off on my blogging duties.  :)

Our little baby is 10 months old now.  I still can't quite believe it.  He is really growing and changing so much.  In the last few weeks he learned how to pull up on the furniture and cruise along it.  He has even been brave enough to let go of it at times and reach out for our hands or move from the table to the couch.  It is so cool to see him develop.

He now has two little teeth on the bottom but no signs of any more teeth right now.

Here are some pictures from the last month and a half.

Is anybody in there????

bathtime is so much fun!!!!!

Since we were traveling home from California on my birthday we decided to celebrate with all my friends and family here in Texas the weekend after we got home.  On Saturday night everyone got together at PF Changs.  It was a really good time and some really yummy food.  On Sunday, everyone gathered at my Mimi's house for our annual summer birthday lunch.  Almost everyone in our family celebrated their birthday between June and August so we get together one time and have a birthday lunch.  My Mimi makes her famous and yummy fried chicken and we just hang out and have fun.  This year we had Jack with us to keep us entertained.  He is so much fun these days.  Here are a few pics from last weekend.
